Who Am I A little about me

About

I am a visual artist who understands painting as a medium and a practice of revelation, organisation and a visual statement of thought. Sparking my curiosity is exploring the complexity of the observable universe through cosmogony and the reception of scientific advances to create relationships between art, science, the universe, and humankind.

My education as an artist began in early 2006 when I was admitted to the School of FineArts in Guayaquil, Ecuador. The exploration of traditional painting materials andtechniques profoundly shaped those formative times.

In 2011, I was admitted to theInstitute of Technological Arts of Ecuador I.T.A.E, where I went through contemporaryapproaches to artistic production.

In 2019, I obtained a BA in Visual Arts with a mention inPictorial Poetics from the University of the Arts in Guayaquil, Ecuador.  As my final project, Icompleted my first solo show project called «Climax, A dialectical subversion of thelandscape“.

In 2023, I showed my first solo show after my undergraduate degree, «A Snakeof Dust,» at Casa del Barrio, Guayaquil, Ecuador, in collaboration with historian and curatorRodolfo Kronfle Chambers.

My artistic research

My artistic research explores the interactions between the depiction of astronomical andgeological phenomena and their significance within cultural contexts. My production isinfluenced by geomythology, that is, the connection between geology and various kinds offolklore. It aims to rethink the relationships between art, the universe and humanity byexploring the interplays of landscape, natural worlds, space exploration and the reception ofscientific advances in the cultural fabric
